  • Category Description: Trojans are malicious applications that pose themselves as legitimate software in order to trick users to install them. Once on the victim's machine, it may run any number of malicious process to steal vital information or inflict damage to other software.
    Comment: This Trojan injects itself into "explorer.exe" in order to Hide itself. It gives remote attacker control over the system.It installs SOCKS4 proxy.
       
    Manual removal: Killing the process "Explorer.exe".
    1. Open Task Manager.
    On Windows 95/98/ME, Press CTRL+ATL+DEL
    On Windows NT/2000/XP, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, Select the Task Manager or Right-Click on the task bar and click on "Task Manager"
    2. Click on the Processes tab.
    3. In the list of programs, click on EXPLORER.EXE and select End Task or End Process. Repeat this procedure until no explorer.exe process is running (The Start Menu, Task Bar, and System Tray will disappear)
    4.Click on "New Task" and then on "Browse".
    5.Browse to "C:\Program Files\X-cleaner\X-cleaner.exe" and click ok.
    6.In the X-xcleaner Window select the tab "Malware SCanner" anfd Select " Scan for malware now".
    7. Restart your computer after the scan.
